Periscope Digital’s workspace defines total transparency.

Let’s face it. Transparency is an often-used word in the world of marketing. But this agency just went more transparent than it could have ever dreamed of.

The unveiling of the new Periscope Digital and Insight & Innovation workspaces bid farewell to the days of walls and boundaries. During the construction period, the departments were relocated to the photo studio for a little over a month. And what a difference a month makes.

Newbies may not remember this, but there was a time not that long ago when the 2nd floor had begun to swell with prosperity and overgrowth. So much so that 14 offices were taking up valuable real estate. The grand solution? Tear down walls, trim away the fat and turn the area into a leaner, meaner space for our growing teams.

But this wasn’t exactly an easy task. Architectural consulting firms had to be brought in, budgets had to be approved and most importantly, the new space had to morph smoothly into an open environment capable of housing 40+ Periscopians comfortably without giving the effect of overcrowding.

When all the dust had settled, Digital and Insight & Innovation were able to move into a brand-spanking new home – the added bonus being the seating arrangement, which matches apples with apples (e.g. designers near designers, writers near writers and developers near developers). In fact, it’s a design aesthetic that may be the shape of things to come in other departments.

Complete with new windows, electronic shades, a pimped-out living room, big screen HDTV, an automated whiteboard and lockers for all, the new space has proven to be an interesting working environment. The elimination of offices gave way for new meeting rooms like Heaven, Hell, Limbo and Purgatory, while the open-flow workspace creates a seeming endless maze of creative minds.
